Light metering is when the camera measures the light, when you wanna activate light metering you have to hold the shutter button down half way. It makes sure that there's enough light. The fist picture is brighter than the bottom picture because I metered the computers light than took a picture of the computer and my partner, so the light from the computer helped capture the light. The second picture I metered my partners skin tone and then took a picture of him and the computer so its darker because there wasn't any light for the camera to meter. If its dark and i wanna take a picture of someone then I can meter the light from something and get the picture.
